The Augustana University God Pod is a mobile media lab built to capture sacred stories of God’s work far and wide. Ministry partners including congregations, synods, campuses, and even towns can request a God Pod visit in their community to produce and share stories of faith in their community.
Thanks to a generous grant from Lilly Endowment Inc., there is no cost for communities to host the God Pod.
The God Pod will be available for scheduling beginning in August 2026.
Augustana University staff will travel with the God Pod to facilitate storytelling events. Communities will receive copies of all recordings for podcasts and other produced stories to share with others. Here are some ways you can choose to engage the God Pod and Augustana’s Sacred Discoveries staff:
Select a few members of your community to share their story through a 10-20 minute podcast.
Park the God Pod in your parking lot and invite members of your community to record a short video response to a storytelling prompt.
Create a “story board” with visual art depicting the stories of God at work in your community.
Host a storytelling supper where members of your community share their stories with one another.
Invite an Augustana student to share a faith story with your community.
Host a Silent (Sacred) Disco dance party in your community. We'll bring the headphones and you bring your best dance moves!
